The Tin Soldier Penrith will be hosting its first Warhammer 40,000 Doubles Team Tournament on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of November. Rowan and Simon will be running the event. This tournament will see teams of 2 players fight 5 battles over the course of the weekend to decide who the best Doubles Team is.

FORMAT

Players will need to pair up with a friend of their choice to form their team. Players may not join multiple teams. Each team will play 3 games on Saturday the 14th and 2 games on Sunday the 15th. Entry costs are $30 per person with all collected entry fees going towards prizes. Opposing teams will be randomly selected and have 2 hours to complete their battle. Due to the tight time constraints of the event games will not run into overtime and players / teams deliberately playing slow will be dealt with harshly.

TIMINGS

Saturday the 14th will run from 0830 – 1800hrs with the event starting at 0845hrs.
Sunday the 15th will run from 0900 – 1600hrs.
Please do not be late.

FORCE ORGANISATION

Each team’s army will be comprised of 2x 1000pt elements under the direct control of the individual players chosen from any current Codex. There are no restrictions to what armies can pair up. Yes that means Tyranids and Tau or Chaos Marines and Loyalist Marines can play on the side. Teams may not share any points (even unused) between their 2 elements IE: an army may not have 1x 1500pt element and a 500pt element. All elements are under their respective Force Organisation charts as set out in their Codex and must field their minimum requirements IE: 1x HQ and 2x Troops.

REGISTRATION

To be able to play in the Doubles Team Tournament, teams must submit their typed army lists and Team Name to the Tin Soldier Penrith, or email it to dingus@internode.on.net before November the 8th. Also players must pay their $30 entry fee to The Tin Soldier Penrith before November the 8th. Late registrations may not be accepted by discretion of the organisers. Once submitted, army lists cannot be changed.

SCENARIOS

  • All scenarios will be pre determined and based heavily on the scenarios found in the Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition Rule Book.
  • Terrain will be set up prior to the battle by an organiser and is not to be altered before, during or after each battle.
  • Table size is 6’ x 4’.

AWARDS

  • Champion Doubles Team: The team to score the most battle points at the end of the event.
  • Artisan Doubles Team: The team who has the best painted army judged by an independent panel.
  • Heroic Doubles Team: The team to receive the highest sportsman score.

PRIZES

  • Champion Doubles Team: 2x Warhammer 40,000 Battle Forces.
  • Artisan Doubles Team: 2x Warhammer 40,000 Battle Forces.
  • Heroic Doubles Team: 2x Warhammer 40,000 Battle Forces
  • All participants who did not receive one of the above listed prizes are entitled to a Black Library book of their choice. (Limited to $16 and stock dependant)
  • Prizes are based on a minimum of 14 registered players.

SCORING

Battle Points will be awarded as follows:

  • Win = 15pts
  • Draw = 8 points
  • Loss = 3 points

Painting and sportsmanship scores will not be used to determine the Champion Doubles Team, but Victory points will be used in the case of a tie.

NOTES

  • Models must be WYSIWYG - no proxying
  • Using models from other Tin Soldier supported ranges is allowed provided they are clearly represented. EG a Warmachine Warjack would be a suitable model for a Space Marine Dreadnought.
  • If a rules dispute cannot be solved by referring to the relevant Codex or Rules Book then an umpire may be called in. Please note the umpires’ ruling is final.
  • Limit of 1 prize per player.
  • Each player will be required to bring the following to each and every game played in the league: Rulebook, relevant Codex, official Codex updates, dice, measuring device, templates and objective markers.
  • Forge World / Imperial Armour units are not allowed, however players may still use Forge World models to represent a unit from their Codex.
  • Models must be mounted on the bases supplied with the kit. Models not based will not be able to be fielded. EG: Necron Destroyers not on skimmer bases are not acceptable
